Not only is Tharp's an animal health care center but they also do grooming. There aren't many animal health care centers in town that have a groomer on the premises. I have taken all three of my dogs there and they do a great job. My parents have taken there dog there for years as well. If you're looking for a good dog groomer try them out. It costs between $30 and $40 dollars for a good cut. that's not too much to spend on man's best friend. —Pam R.

I have taken my 2 dogs to other vets in Chillicothe and none of them will ever compare to the care I got at Tharps. The vet is always right in his treatments, and his staff is awesome, the girls working up front is all so friendly and helpful. I just love to have my dogs groomed there, the girl that grooms them is so good at her job, she trims the dogs just the way you want them done, she knows all the styles to do. Dr. Tharp is awesome and really cares about animals. I trust them completely, and it really takes allot for me to leave my dogs with anyone. They don't overcharge you for treatments your animals really don't need. Dr. Tharp really knows what it takes to be a good vet, try them you won't be sorry. Also Dr Tharp is up to date on all the latest lazer surgery's available to help your pet heal faster. His experience is amazing! —Nuff Said

"Our whole family would like to thank you for the warmth and caring that you showed to us and to Dozer. You probably hear it a lot, but our dog was a member of the family. In fact, because he came along when I was only seven and Mary Nelle only four, my mother always referred to him as our brother.
Allowing my dad and I to be with Dozer at the end of his life meant a great deal, especially to Mary Nelle as she was not able to be there and needed great assurance that Dozer was not alone and scared. Your concern for our whole family was so evident in the careful manner in which you handled Dozer; patting his head, covering the wound from the needle after he was already gone, and telling us that you were sorry for what we had to go through...were all actions that were not small gestures; they were very meaningful to us.

"Special thanks again to you and your staff for the kindness all of you showed to my homeless black pit bull mix I brought in on Monday A.M. It was so nice of you to see her as soon as I caught her without an advanced appointment. She spent her first night sleeping inside a warm house Monday night instead of out in the cold. I'd been feeding her twice a day for 3 weeks and don't know how long she had been living on her own. She's in loving care and has a safe and happy long life ahead of her. "Obviously you are an exceptionally sensitive, caring vet, as is your father to the dog he treated (free of charge) for me so many years ago. That stray had to be put down and your dad took care of it sensitively. Willie is my 7 year old rescue dog and I've thanked God for him every day since he "fell" into my life. When I brought Willie to you last week, I had convinced myself that "abscess" was another cancerous tumor, and I expected to bring him home to bury him. SURPRISE! He's doing great, the abscess is quite small now and he only took 1 pain pill. The next morning I took him for a 2 mile walk, slowly, and today on the walk he ran, rolled in grass and tried to chase a squirrel. Now for a dog, that's living the good life and for his owner, sheer joy! Thanks for seeing and treating Willie on such short notice and caring. I'll never forget my little miracle.
